Meet Dr. Ross A. Marley

Dr. Ross Marley grew up in Homer, Alaska and he is a third generation dentist. His grandfather (Dr. Paul E. Marley) obtained his DDS degree in 1922 and practiced for many years in the small western Pennsylvania town named Jamestown. Dr. Ross Marley’s father (Dr. William Jay Marley, Sr.) earned his DDS degree 1966, then moved to Alaska and became Homer’s first dentist. That was back when Homer truly was the end of the road. Dr. Ross Marley’s brother (Dr. William Jay Marley, Jr.) took over their father’s Homer practice in 2003. Dr. Ross Marley is a 2009 graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where he earned his DMD degree. His cousin (Dr. Jason Toney) also practices dentistry in Rochester, Minnesota. So, guess what we all talk about at family get togethers?
Dr. Ross Marley is married to Collauna Marley who grew up in Sitka. They have two young children, Marina and Silas who are real gems. When Ross and Collauna found out that a dental practice was available for a new dentist to come to Sitka, they jumped at the opportunity. They took over the practice in 2011. They were looking for a civic minded community, connected to a beautiful natural environment for a place their children could call home. They feel lucky to have landed in Sitka.
